For those interested in securing a seasonal campsite for their RV, the campground hosts an open house event. This event provides an opportunity to explore the facilities and choose your home away from home for the upcoming season.
We now offer a state of the art septic treatment plant and now we have some sewer sites. We also have some full hookup sites available for overnight RVs.
In addition to RV and tent camping, American Wilderness Campground offers cabin rentals, group camping areas, and various amenities to enhance your stay. These include a log cabin store, clean restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, and recreational activities.

Heading to the Cleveland Metropolitan area? If so, you will find the American Wilderness Campground and Event Center; from here you can explore the amazing Cleveland Area Attractions, as well as making use of the campgrounds’ high quality Camping Amenities. We are one of the closest campgrounds to the Cleveland Metropolitan area, only 25 minutes from downtown Cleveland and 15 minutes from Elyria, Ohio.
While traveling by motorhome is an amazing adventure, occasionally you will need a campground with a little extra luxury that a motorhome just can’t offer. American Wilderness Campground with its clean restrooms, showers and laundry facilities will provide you with the comfort you are missing on your road trip. We now offer some hook-up sites with sewer as an option, as well as a dump station to help keep your motorhome fresh and access to city water.
If you happen to visit during less than appealing weather, or just want an extra level of comfort you can also rent one of American Wilderness Campgrounds’ cabins for all or part of your stay.
Ken and I took our previous Class C across the country a few years ago. We stayed at numerous campgrounds for about 4-1/2 months. They were all excellent .. but there is no campground as wonderful as our own American Wilderness Campground right here in Grafton, OH. It is NOT a resort, it IS a campground. We have the most amazing campers at AWC. We are old. We are 73 and 75. I hope that we can continue on here for years to come. Our fellow campers and ALL staff always are asking how they can help us.
